Description
This is a hybrid role, in-person in Alexandria, VA, three days per week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday).
The Senior Manager, Digital Learning manages the development, implementation, and maintenance of a variety of education and knowledge initiatives to support the Foundation’s digital learning strategy. This position designs, develops, and implements implement education activities in accordance with ACCME guidelines and using established protocols for the AAO-HNSF’s continuing professional development (CPD) portfolio. This role acts as a liaison between Academy departments and committees with the emphasis on coordination and integration of education initiatives and member engagement. In addition, the position utilizes survey and evaluation data to monitor success of the education program to inform future activities.
The Senior Manager, Digital Learning reports to the Chief of Programs and Partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages the development, implementation, and maintenance of all new content development based on practice gaps across the Foundation’s eight Education Committees (16 new courses per year).
- Applies sound instructional design (Articulate Storyline) and adult learning principles to all education activities.
- Manages faculty and CME reviewers through the education activity development process.
- Works with respective Education Committees to create continuing medical education (CME) that comply with ACCME requirements and Maintenance of Certification (MOC).
- Manages multiple projects and working groups simultaneously for all assigned products.
- Maintains shared documents within the department.
- May participate on internal teams, either through formal assignment, or on an ad hoc basis.
- Consistently demonstrates courteous, cooperative, and helpful behavior to all contacts, internal and external.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Required experience in professional education, continuing medical education (CME), or nonprofit association environment with an emphasis on digital learning.
- Successful completion of a Bachelors’ degree (relevant experience / certifications may be substituted for a degree).
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage competing deadlines.
- Ability to operate effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point; and ability to learn to use IMIS efficiently.
- Relevant experience with web-based learning technology (LMS systems, Articulate, and other education online software).
- Excellent customer service, problem solving, and judgement skills. Some travel will be required.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting and standing, up to 7.5 hours per day
- Ability to maneuver (lift, carry, move, slide, etc.) up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to spend most of the time viewing computer monitors and operating computer-related devices (keyboard, mouse, etc.)
